Gospel - Jesus good news
Have you ever lied, treated someone unfairly or hurt them? Are you struggling with an addiction or are you simply unable to break a bad habit or stronghold? Do you also know that feeling of shame and guilt that comes after every lie, every high, every fight? So why do we keep doing things that are not good for our physical and mental health and our relationships (sin)? When God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai (s. Exodus 20:1-17), he already knew what we should do for a meaningful and healthy life. He gave his commandments out of pure love. Nevertheless, the Israelites rebelled against God's commandments time and time again. Just like I did and just like you have certainly done. But instead of turning away from mankind and leaving them to their own sin and suffering, God did what is written in John 3:16:
For God so loved the world, that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God loves you so much that he came to earth for you in Jesus. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He was just as exposed to temptation as you are (s. Matthew 4:1-11). But Jesus remained completely sinless. Nevertheless, he had to suffer a cruel death on the cross (s. Luke 23:46-47). Jesus died innocently on the cross for our transgressions, for our sins. His blood was shed for your sins. Jesus' blood frees you from shame, from guilt, from sin! His blood makes you new (s. 1 John 1:7). Religion says you have to do this and that, pray at least 5 times a day and be a good person. The Bible says: Come as you are, with all your sins and faults, and the blood of Jesus makes you clean. FOREVER. All you have to do is believe in Jesus. Isn't that great? And even better: Jesus didn't stay dead for long. He rose from the dead on the third day. Hallelujah, Jesus is alive! Jesus conquered death and sin in our lives. What a great message!

Do you want to break the chains of sin and make Jesus your Lord and Saviour? Then say the following prayer from your heart:

"Heavenly Father. I repent and confess my sins to you. I believe in the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and that he died for me on the cross and rose from the dead three days later. From now on, I want to follow Jesus. Amen."

And even more: when Jesus ascended into heaven to his Father, he did not leave us alone! No, God sent us, the believers, the Holy Spirit. (s. Acts 2:1-4) The Holy Spirit is our helper and teacher (s. John 14:26) and enables us to live freely and do wonderful things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
